NEW YORK – A new device can help track vulnerable patients without cellphones or Internet connectivity. LynQ is a people tracker that shows the exact location of patients with conditions like dementia or autism that have tendencies to wander off. The clip-on device allows multiple users to track their positions relative to each other up to a distance of three miles using algorithms that blend GPS, long range, low power radio communication and a custom antenna for connection anywhere under an open sky. LynQ is currently raising funds with an Indiegogo campaign, with a launch expected in 2018.
