SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Quallcom is partnering with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals to develop a connected inhaler for COPD patients. Quallcom Life will develop a prototype for a small, wireless, low-power disposable module for Boehringer’s Respimat inhaler, which will connect with Quallcom Life’s 2net platform. The module will be able to track puffs from the Respimat, and the collected information can be shared with the provider or patient. “We are excited to be collaborating with an industry leader like Boehringer Ingelheim to deliver a more seamless digital health experience that can enable COPD patients to better manage their disease,” said Qualcomm Life President Rick Valencia in a press release.
